Restore: Goddess Pose Setup
Restorative Yoga is a gentle style of yoga practice focusing on supporting the entire body. By working internally, this form of yoga involves placing the body in passive postures to facilitate release and openness while calming the nervous system. Using supportive props like pillows, blocks, blankets, and bolsters enhances the comfort level, guiding practitioners into a deeply relaxed state. This practice is particularly beneficial for individuals with tight hips and shoulders, those menstruating, or seeking prenatal support. For pregnant individuals, if you feel nauseous or dizzy during a pose, please roll onto your left side immediately.
Recommended props include 2 blocks, a bolster or pillow, 3 blankets, and optional comforts like a sandbag or eye pillow. The key to restorative yoga is finding passive ease in each posture.
